When Rakul Preet Singh recalls her childhood memory with Ajay Devgn

Rakul Preet Singh, who is currently celebrating the success of 'De De Pyaar De 2', starring Ajay Devgn and Tabu, had years back shared in an old interview that she was only two years old when she first saw the iconic song Ruk Ruk Ruk from Ajay Devgn and Tabu’s Vijaypath.

What she shared about the moment

Rakul said in an old interview during the lockdown that she once mentioned this childhood detail to Ajay Devgn while shooting together. He jokingly asked her to avoid repeating it, worried it would make him feel older. She responded with humour, reminding him that their film itself explored age gaps in relationships. Rakul added that working with Ajay and Tabu was a dream since she had admired them for years. Both stars treated her warmly on set.

Fast forward to 2025

Recently, at the Agenda Aaj Tak 2025, she addressed the age gap between her and Ajay Devgn. She said, “I have seen many real-life couples with a significant age gap. Making a film with such content is difficult." She added, “We haven't shown in the film that people easily accept such relationships. We have shown the impact and the drawbacks of such relationships.”

She added about the success of the movie, "The film received a very good response. It received a lot of love from the audience. I hope that I will continue to get similar roles in the future."

About ‘De De Pyaar De 2’

Directed by Anshul Sharma and written by Luv Ranjan and Tarun, it follows the continued story of Ashish and Ayesha, as Ashish tries to meet Ayesha’s modern parents. Along with Ajay Devgn, Rakul Preet and Tabu, the movie also stars R. Madhavan and Meezaan Jafri. The movie was released on November 14, 2025.
