When Priyanka Chopra revealed why she added Jonas to her surname

Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas have been setting up couple goals since their marriage in 2018. One such instance would be when Priyanka decided to change her name to Priyanka Chopra Jonas, as a decision she made to honor the traditions of family but without losing one's identity.

According to Pinkvilla, a throwback explanation by Priyanka elaborated that it was her choice so she could embrace both families' legacies without losing the name she built over the years.

She shared her feelings upon seeing the new name in print for the first time on a popular podcast. It was described by the actress as something mixed with a surprise and realization.

She said that although no one pressured her to change her name, she still wanted to honor her parents' tradition but balance it with her identity.

Looking to the future and paying respect to the customs, Priyanka hoped that someday, in the future, changing one's name would not be an impossibility, perhaps the men of the relationship would take their partner's last name. But about the name "Jonas," there she made sure to set the record straight that her identity as Priyanka Chopra will never go away.

Professionally, Priyanka is currently shooting for Season 2 of 'Citadel' and is waiting for the release of the most awaited Heads of State.
