Director Purnendu Haldar is definitely upbeat about his forthcoming big screen venture, Preyashi. In spite of his packed schedule, he took time out to speak to CT.
Director Purnendu Haldar is definitely upbeat about his forthcoming big screen venture, Preyashi. In spite of his packed schedule, he took time out to speak to CT.
Commenting on his film, the director said, “The entire film is in the flashback mode. Music is definitely the highlight of the film.
Preyashi has seven songs and singers like Kumar Sanu, Kavita Krishnamurthy, Babul Supriyo, Jojo, Monomoy, Jaya Halder, Subhamita and Sushmita have lent their voices to the scores. Pinak has scored the film’s music.”
The story of the film revolves around Arnab (Samrat) who is a brilliant student. He meets a girl, Babli (Indrani Dutta), who is slightly older than him and has a relationship with her. But she dumps him and gets married to someone else.
Life takes a different turn for him and his career plans go awry. At this juncture, he meets Jhilik, played by Pauli. “What happens next is the main focus of the film. I don’t want to divulge more than that as it will lessen the excitement for the viewers,” says Purnendu. The film also stars Mrinal Mukherjee, Debraj Roy and Anuradha Roy.
