When Kareena Kapoor gave a befitting reply to rumours and gossip during Karisma Kapoor and Sunjay Kapur’s divorce proceedings: ‘How I support my sister…’
Kareena Kapoor Khan and Karisma Kapoor have always been close sisters. Over the years, they’ve supported each other through life’s highs and lows. One such moment came in 2016, when Karisma was going through a very tough time in her personal life. Her divorce from Sunjay Kapur was still in process, and many reports and rumours were doing rounds.
Even though their father, Randhir Kapoor, had openly spoken about the matter, Kareena decided to take a different route. She kept quiet for a long time and only once spoke about the issue in a calm but firm way.
In a past interview with Hindustan Times, Kareena finally shared her thoughts, but without going into details or adding to the drama. She said, “It is such a personal thing. Both Karisma and I haven’t spoken about it at all. How I support my sister is no one’s concern,” adding, “I’m very happy that people are concerned about her, because she is a public figure, and I respect that. But people are also writing 500 versions of the matter (Karisma’s personal life), when no one knows the truth.”
Karisma attended the funeral in Delhi with her children, and Kareena was right there beside her, offering comfort and support. She was seen at the funeral with her husband, Saif Ali Khan, standing by Karisma in her time of grief.
