When Irshad Kamil was happy charging one rupee for the anthem of 'Pink'

Making a name as a lyricist in Bollywood is no laughing matter. Irshad Kamil has made a name for himself in the film industry by dint of his hard work and dedication to his profession. Kamil has penned the lyrics for movies like 'Sultan',

'Tamasha'

,

'Guddu Rangeela'

and 'Rockstar' among other popular hits. Some of the famous lyricists he looks up to are Sahir Ludhianvi, Anand Bakshi and Majrooh Sultanpuri.

In a rare gesture, Kamil took a token amount of rupee 1 for writing the

'Pink'

anthem which released shortly after the Amitabh Bachchan-starrer hit theatres. It features several women celebrating life in their own unique way. According to Shoojit Sircar, its producer, Kamil has penned the song beautifully symbolising what 'Pink' stands for.
