Veteran Bollywood legend Dharmendra, is a true living legend, celebrated for an unparalleled career spanning over six decades. Earlier this year he took a trip down memory lane, sharing a priceless throwback photo with his Instagram followers. The picture captures a pure fanboy moment with the legendary actor Ashok Kumar, fondly known as "Dada Muni."

An autograph on a hundred-rupee note

The black-and-white photograph shows a smiling Dharmendra standing next to Ashok Kumar as the legend signs an autograph for him, not on a piece of paper, but on a hundred-rupee note. The two actors are seen sharing the moment with director Asit Sen and actor Mohan Choti.


Dharmendra accompanied the post with a heartfelt caption, "Friends, an autograph from Dada Muni on hundred rupees note. lovely memories. Director Asht sen and Mohan choti are watching thirdly." The post highlights a cherished moment from his early days, long before he became a cinema icon himself.

A long shared history on screen

The two legends have shared the screen in numerous films. Their collaboration spanned decades and various genres. They first appeared together in the 1963 classic 'Bandini', though they didn't have scenes together.They went on to co-star in memorable films like 'Pooja Ke Phool' (1964), 'Mamta' (1966), and Hrishikesh Mukherjee's 'Satyakam' (1969), where Ashok Kumar played Dharmendra's father. Their other notable films include 'Sharafat' (1970), 'Naya Zamana' (1971), 'Chhoti Si Baat' (1975), and 'Dream Girl' (1977), solidifying their place as a respected on-screen duo.

What's next for the legend

Fans of the veteran star can look forward to seeing him on the big screen again. Dharmendra is set to appear in the highly anticipated war drama 'Ikkis', directed by Sriram Raghavan. The film tells the real-life story of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, a brave soldier who, at just 21, became the youngest-ever recipient of the Param Vir Chakra for his actions during the 1971 war.

The film is headlined by Agastya Nanda, who plays the young soldier. Dharmendra will portray the role of his father, M.L. Khetarpal. The film, which also stars Jaideep Ahlawat and Simar Bhatia, is set to release in theaters on December 25.
