Bollywood catfights are nothing new, and Koffee With Karan has often brought them to light. In its first season, Bipasha Basu made headlines for taking a dig at Ameesha Patel after Ameesha criticized her bold role in the 2003 erotic thriller Jism.
During the first season of Koffee With Karan in 2004, Karan Johar told Bipasha Basu that Ameesha Patel had commented on Jism, saying she would never do such a role as it would disappoint her grandmother. This upset Bipasha, who quickly took a dig at the Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai actress.
Bipasha responded by saying that Ameesha lacked the physical attributes needed for a role like Jism. She explained that such a role required a strong personality and a certain presence, which she felt Ameesha didn’t have. According to her, Ameesha’s petite frame wouldn’t suit the character.
Ameesha had reportedly commented on Bipasha Basu’s hips in Jism. In response, Bipasha playfully remarked that she was thankful for the comment, as her hips were now smaller and looked great.
Bipasha and Ameesha's feud made headlines at the time, but Jism became a big success. Bipasha was also in a relationship with her Jism co-star John Abraham for nine years before they broke up in 2011.
