Actor Babil Khan, son of the late legendary actor Irrfan Khan, has steadily been making his mark in the industry. Rather than leaning solely on his father’s legacy, he is carving his identity through auditions, rejections, and self-reflection.

However, in an earlier candid conversation with the media, the young star admitted that his journey isn’t as easy as many assume. Far from being flooded with projects, Babil revealed that he still goes through the grind like any other aspiring actor.

“I will be very honest with you, I know people think that, but no! I am not getting offers just like that. Offers come, then I read the script and wonder, ‘Arey, should I say yes or no?’ Then the manager says, ‘Sir, you have to audition for this.’ Now I am like, Ohh acha, they should now say yes or no to me,” Babil shared in a chat with Pinkvilla during 'Qala' promotions.

Carrying the legacy of Irrfan Khan

Reflecting on his early days, Babil recalled how stepping onto a set for the first time came with an overwhelming sense of identity tied to his father. His father, Irrfan Khan, had just passed, and Babil found himself thrust into the limelight.

“The first thing when I came on set, my head was like, ‘huhhhh,’ I had come as Irrfan Khan’s son. And the first thing I was told was, ‘You were always Sutapa’s son.’ Suddenly I was like…” He trailed off, recalling how grounding that moment was.

It was a reminder that beyond fame and legacy, he was still himself.
