In the year 2013, Indian cinema lovers witnessed a historic moment when Bollywood superstars Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan ended their long-standing feud. Their infamous fallout had occurred at Katrina Kaif's birthday party in 2008, keeping them apart for nearly five years. The man who played a key role in reconciling the two was Baba Siddique, who was tragically shot dead by three assailants on Saturday night (October 12) last year.

The two actors had been embroiled in a long-standing feud since their infamous clash at Katrina Kaif’s birthday party in 2008. However, at Siddique’s Iftar gathering, the rivalry took a backseat as they shared a warm handshake, sending fans into a frenzy. The moment became a major highlight in Bollywood history.

Industry insiders revealed that it was his persistence and genuine affection for Salman and Shah Rukh that brought them back together. Many believe only Baba could have achieved this, as he had no personal or business interests in the matter.

Further, a source told India Today, "Before the Iftar, he went to both their houses and spoke to them about calling it a truce. He told them how Eid is an occasion where one needs to let go of any malice and forgive each other. He has been close to Shah Rukh and Salman, and they both also have immense respect and love for him. It was just destined to happen through Baba, probably only because of the strong bond they share."

Producer and film business analyst Girish Johar, in an exclusive conversation with India Today, recalled the iconic moment of Salman and Shah Rukh’s reunion. He shared how the industry was thrilled to witness two of Bollywood’s biggest stars reconciling. Johar also noted that their bond has only strengthened over the years, which is evident in their public appearances and collaborations.

"They even came together to work in each other's films, which further solidified their friendship. At the end of the day, this is one fraternity, and when two stars are not on talking terms, it's a matter of concern for everyone. The top talents, be they filmmakers, writers, or technicians, are working with both of them and are thus, directly or indirectly, associated. It was difficult for everyone during the rough patch, and when they finally came together, it was a sigh of relief for everyone. It was definitely one of the most celebrated and talked about moments in the industry, and otherwise too," Johar stated.
