When Anil Kapoor revealed how Subhash Ghai trusted instincts while making Aishwarya Rai-starrer ‘Taal’
More than two decades after ‘Taal’ released, the film continues to be remembered for its music, emotion, and storytelling. Directed by Subhash Ghai, the romantic movie became iconic. In an old interview, actor Anil Kapoor once opened up about how Ghai often relied on instinct while filmmaking, sharing an incident that revealed the director’s spontaneous and trust-driven working style.
He further added, "I woke up the next day and decided not to go. But I was worried about what would happen if I didn't go to the shoot. I also feared that 'Kahin scene alteration kar ke dialogue Akshaye Khanna ko na de de' I got to the sets at 12:30 p.m. He was relaxed because he knew I was coming. We must have finished the scenes in 2-3 hours," offering a glimpse into the trust and spontaneity that defined their collaboration.

At a special event hosted by Radio Nasha in 2024, Anil Kapoor revisited memories from the making of Taal. Recalling the experience, Kapoor said, "The climax monologue was scheduled to be shot the next day. I told him, "I'm not coming tomorrow." You aren't giving me the scene. He knows me so well that he said, "Theek hai." Mat aa' (Don't come).He further added, "I woke up the next day and decided not to go. But I was worried about what would happen if I didn't go to the shoot.
