When Ameesha Patel broke silence on being called ‘snobbish’ in the early 2000s
Ameesha Patel recently addressed the ‘snobbish, rich b**ch’ image that the media projected of her during the early days of her career. Coming from a well-known Gujarati family, Ameesha shared that people often mistook her for being arrogant simply because she would stay engrossed in her book while on set.
Ameesha's film journey
She made her acting debut alongside Hrithik Roshan in 'Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai' (2000), directed by his father, Rakesh Roshan. She later starred in successful films like 'Gadar: Ek Prem Katha' and 'Humraaz.' However, despite a promising start, her film career did not reach the heights that were initially expected of her.
Misjudged
In an interview with Pinkvilla, Ameesha Patel opened up about how the media portrayed her during the early days of her career. She said, “I was portrayed as arrogant and snobbish and this typical South Bombay rich brat. Because on the sets, I would not indulge in idle gossip and bitching about people or talking them down. Someone else has a hit; I would always be happy that he or she has done a great job."
Comparison between her and Hrithik Roshan
Ameesha, who lit the box-office records with 'Gadar: Ek Prem Katha' in 2001, reprised her role in 'Gadar 2' alongside Sunny Deol. Directed by Anil Sharma, the film featured Sunny Deol as Tara Singh, Ameesha Patel as Sakeena, and Utkarsh Sharma as Jeete. The sequel continued the legacy of the original, drawing immense love from audiences.
