They came, they entertained and they left everybody with a big smile on their faces. This was the story of a Wednesday when the star cast of 'Once Upon Ay Time in Mumbai Dobaara! 'visited Ahmedabad. And they left no stone unturned to entertain Amdavadis. With the hero, heroine and the villain together in one frame, not only did the shutterbugs get value for money for chasing the stars, but it proved to be quite a sight for the fans as well who had gathered at different venues to get a glimpse of Imran Khan, Sonakshi Sinha and Akshay Kumar. Akki’s m moment: 1:30 PM This was the big meeting. Akki, along with “good friend”
Paresh Rawal (who joined the entourage at the last moment), went to meet chief minister
Narendra Modi. While Khiladi Kumar has paid many other personal visits to Gujarat making his connect with the state clear, this visit further established that Akshay wishes to further his relationship with Gujarat. The three stalwarts casually met for a quick brief before the stars took off for their city tour.
Red carpet entry: 3:30 PM Lead couple, Imran Khan and Sonakshi Sinha, made a red carpet entry at a college in
Gandhinagar, to interact with the students, who were exhilarated on seeing the stars in their college campus. While the auditorium, filled beyond capacity, echoed with the excitement of the starstruck students, the rest of the campus went abuzz as Sonakshi and Imran took a golf course ride.
Mall drive: 5 PM By this time, the news about the stars arriving in the city had spread. The longer the wait, more the excitement seemed to engulf the fans. There was no guessing when the stars arrived as the loud cheers and sounds of fans chanting Akshay’s name were enough to know the heroes of the day had arrived. While the media waited in anticipation, Akshay, to everyone’s surprised walked in with Paresh Rawal. Akki broke the ice saying, “Pareshji is not in the film, so you people need not get confused. But you should ask him questions in Gujarati, eh toh tamara ghar na chhe.” That set the tempo for the rest of the evening.
But this was only the beginning of a rollercoaster ride these three were about to embark upon. With fans following the cavalcade of their cars, and hundreds more waiting in another city mall, the three of them entertained fans with some live performance matching steps to the recreated yesteryear hit Taiyyab Ali.
And even after interacting with the crowd, entertaining them with their dance moves and more, the crowd was left wanting for more as the stars left for the airport in a rush. With the traffic coming to a standstill, the stars made a quick exit to catch their flight. We heard some saying, “Thoda aur der rukna chahiye tha.”
We reckon the stars are listening.
