What Yami Gautam’s father did when he was in lockdown

Did you know that Yami Gautam’s father Mukesh Gautam was stuck at their farmhouse in Himachal Pradesh during the lockdown? The actress, while chatting with BT, had said that her father was visiting their farm for two days to check on the produce when the national lockdown was announced in March this year. For those who have tuned in late, Yami, who was last seen in Bala and Uri: The Surgical Strike has been involved with organic farming for the last two years with help from her parents.

Talking about how he spent his days there, Yami told BT, “Papa had gone there to get the produce plucked from the fields. He had gone to supervise that but he had to stay back there for a while. I think that was for the good because he didn’t travel and he remained completely safe. The administration was very strict. When he was at the farm, papa would pluck peas and dig out potatoes from the field and have them for his meals. While my father was at the farm, he used to share the produce from our farm with our neighbours there. By the time I go back to my farm, it will be a different season but I can barely wait to go there. We will have to work on things to take them to the next level. The land has to be made more fertile in an eco-friendly way. You know the magic of the place is such that once you go there, you don’t want to come back, there is so much to explore and expand. We’ve been actively into it for two years and they’ve been very fulfilling for me.”
