Watch: Akshay Kumar expresses his gratitude on winning the National Award for ‘Rustom’

The 64th National Film Awards were announced this morning and Akshay Kumar has a reason to rejoice. The star has won the National Award for Best Actor for his spectacular performance in ‘Rustom’.

As the congratulatory messages started pouring in for the actor, he expressed his joy and gratitude with a special video. Akshay thanked the National Award jury for recognising his work and his fans for appreciating the movie.He also stated that wearing the Indian Navy uniform in the film was indeed a matter of pride and honour. Dedicating the award to his parents and his wife Twinkle Khanna, the 49-year-old star also thanked his better half for her immense faith in him.

Directed by Tinu Suresh Desai, ‘Rustom’ was loosely based on the 1959 Nanavati case.
