HISAR: A local court on Tuesday issued fresh non-bailable warrants against lyricist Dev Kohli and playback singer Purnima of Hindi film ''Kudrat'' in connection with a complaint alleging vulgarity in a song of the film.
Additional Chief Judicial magistrate Ajay Tawatia today also issued summons to music director Rajesh Roshan, playback singer Abhijit, producer Romu N Sippy, actor Akshay Khanna, actress Urmila Matondkar and Gramaphone Company of India to appear in the court on June 2.
Rakesh Sethi, a local resident and former vice-president of Bhartiya Janata Yuva Morcha, had filed a petition in a court here in November 1998 seeking a ban on a song of the film.
In a criminal suit, the complainant had questioned the use of "vulgar language" in the song and pleaded before the court that it be banned.
Earlier, the court had issued non-bailable warrants against Kohli and Purnima on Feb 18 to appear before it on April 1, but was returned unserved.
