Waluscha De Sousa: I want to do a gamut of challenging roles

From doing a commercial at the age of 18 with Shah Rukh Khan to acting opposite the actor as heroine at 31 in 'Fan', Waluscha De Sousa has taken the road less travelled. She won't mind calling herself a quintessential outsider who doesn't believe in following a predictable trajectory of life. 'I have always believed in coming out my comfort zone. I know it takes a lot of courage as the stakes are high,' the actress was quoted as saying in a report.

Waluscha married fashion choreographer Marc Robinson, had three kids, and got divorced a few years ago.Despite going through the highs and lows of life, Waluscha continued walking the ramp and did a movie which she didn't expect would come her way. 'Imagine Maneesh Sharma calling me up one fine morning to inform that I have to play the heroine in SRK's 'Fan'. Even my kids looked so excited when they came to know that their mom would be acting with the hero she has always liked --- Shah Rukh Khan,' says the actress.
Was she nervous acting with SRK? 'Yes, initially I felt a little jittery and uncomfortable doing the shots. But SRK was very cooperative and made me feel at home. He gave me suggestions on how to improvise on my scenes,' says Waluscha. According to her, Shah Rukh is a dedicated professional.
After working with SRK, Waluscha is getting offers from producers. She wants to do a gamut of challenging roles from romance, action to thriller. 'Getting to work with the likes of Karan Johar and Hansal Mehta will be a dream come true for me,' says Waluscha.
Walusche wants to live life on her own terms and has that fanatical determination to make a go of her career irrespective of her age. According to the actress, at times we may have to give up our safety nets to be successful in life.
