Walking the red carpet at Cannes for the first time felt surreal: Soniya Bansal
Soniya Bansal marked a major milestone in her career as her short film The Last Breath was screened at the Cannes Film Festival market screenings. The actress also made her red carpet debut, turning heads in a pink lehenga-saree by designer Dolly J that blended traditional Indian elegance with contemporary style. The Last Breath, which also stars Shiv Thakare, highlights the issue of deforestation and environmental conservation.
Speaking about the project, Soniya said, "The Last Breath is very close to my heart because it carries an important environmental message. Cinema has the power to inspire awareness and change, and I'm proud to be associated with a story that speaks about protecting nature."
Reflecting on her Cannes debut, she shared, "Walking the red carpet at Cannes for the first time feels surreal. I wanted to stay rooted in Indian culture while presenting something timeless and graceful on an international stage."
The screening introduced the film to international buyers, distributors and festival programmers, helping bring global attention to its environmental message.
