Esha Deol, on her recent visit to Bhopal, got talking with us about her life post marriage, her love for the city, and more This is my third visit to Bhopal. I love performing in the city of lakes and I always look forward to my Bhopal visits,” declared Esha, when we caught up with her recently before her performance at Shironj Mahotsav in Vidisha, along with
Hema Malini and sister Ahana.
“Bhopalites exude such warmth and affection that you want to come to this city again and again. Next time, I will also get my hubby along with me,” she added.
This is Esha’s first visit to Bhopal post her marriage to businessman Bharat Takhtani in 2012. “I’m enjoying my married life. Shaadi is a big responsibility and it helps when you’ve found your soulmate in your partner. My in-laws are very innocent and sweet.

Talking about films, has she quit her acting career? “No, I just can’t stop acting. I love films. I’m waiting for some decent roles to come my way. I enjoy doing both – films and stage performances,” she added. Talking about her married life, Esha said, “
Zindagi toh abhi shuru hui hai… bahut kuch plan kiya hai. I’m also planning to go abroad for a long holiday on our first wedding anniversary (June 29).”
A self-confessed fitness freak, Esha said she loves to work out. “J
itna ho sake mainutna work out
karti hun. It keeps my body fit,” she said. Being a Punjabi, Esha said, she doesn’t have problems keeping up with the eating habits of her Sindhi hubby. “I think Punjabi and Sindhi food is very similar. But for me, it’s more of the South Indian dishes. In fact, I have started cooking as well. I learned to make a Sindhi curry recently.
Pehle toh I couldn’t even boil potatoes!” she smiled.
Talking about Ahana, she said, “We are more like friends. She is my little sister and I am very protective about her.” About her tattoos, she said, “I got the Gayatri Mantra inked on my shoulder because it was the first mantra that my dad taught me.”
Hema Malini, who was shopping at the gift store of the hotel they were putting up at, also spoke to us. “I love this place. It feels wonderful to perform here. People of Bhopal know how to appreciate art and culture, which is a remarkable thing,” she said.
