'Voh lambi race ka ghoda hai': Aamir Khan backs 'Ek Din' star Junaid Khan’s journey

Junaid Khan began his acting career with Maharaj and his performance received appreciation from audiences. However, his first theatrical release did not meet expectations at the box office. Also his next film after that, 'Loveyappa', failed to impress the audiences as well, even though it was a remake of the superhit Tamil film 'Love Today'.He is now set to appear in 'Ek Din', backed by his father Aamir Khan. In a recent interview with Radio City India, Aamir spoke about Junaid’s journey. He described him as a “lambi race ka ghoda.” He also compared his son’s early phase to his own beginnings in cinema.Aamir shared that he has not guided or influenced Junaid’s choices. He believes every actor must find their own path. He said, “Junaid aisa nahi hai, vo mujhe kabhi kuch karne nahi dega. He is a very independent guy, very strong-willed and doesn't give up easily. Voh lambi race ka ghoda hai, jo mere baare mein bhi bola jaata tha jab main pehle pehle aaya tha." ("Junaid isn’t like that; he would never let me interfere. He is very independent, very strong-willed, and doesn’t give up easily. He’s a long-distance runner — the same thing people used to say about me when I had just started out.”)Aamir also spoke about Junaid’s approach to acting. He emphasized his commitment to each role. According to him, Junaid approaches characters with complete sincerity. He mentioned that Junaid fully immerses himself in his performances. Referring to his work, Aamir said, “He has also followed his character in Ek Din with full honesty. Although it's not a very heroic character, he has never tried to step out of it. That shows his honesty towards his work.”Aamir recalled a nostalgic moment from Junaid’s childhood. He shared that Junaid loved watching Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. He was especially fond of action scenes. Aamir once took him to the sets of 'Ishq'. During the shoot, he performed a stunt scene. He struck a car belonging to Ajay Devgn and Juhi Chawla with a rod. The car flipped dramatically into the air. Aamir revealed that Junaid found the moment exciting and unforgettable.'Ek Din' is an upcoming romantic drama directed by Sunil Pandey. The film stars Sai Pallavi alongside Junaid Khan in lead roles. It is a remake of the 2016 'Thai film One Day'. The cast also includes Kunal Kapoor, Kavin Dave, and Pragati Mishra. Meanwhile, Aamir Khan was last seen in 'Sitaare Zameen Par'.
