The man known for filming some of the most beautiful Bollywood weddings, Vishal Punjabi himself got engaged on October 16 last month. Vishal has been dating London based Nikki Krishan fot over a year and a half. "On my father’s birthday, I asked her to marry me by the banks of River Ganges in Rishikesh right before the Ganga Aarti," Vishal shares. He adds, "She’s a deeply spiritual woman and so I thought it would be apt to fly us all to Kedarnath and Triyuginarayan Temple to bless the ring and us all. It’s where Lord Shiva’s abode rests and the temple at which he married Parvati."
Vishal gave her a ring that is a mix of platinum and gold, bearing a Shiva-eye diamond, upheld by four Trishuls symbolizing life's pillars, encircled by family diamonds, with sister-honoring gemstones and a sacred mantra within. The two fell in love at Nikki's sister's wedding in England. "Her beauty, joy and love for her family drew me in. Her sisters helped us get closer," he mentions.
The documentary filmmaker kept the news low-key, not even letting any of his celeb clients get a whiff of it. "It was meant to be a surprise," he adds. The two plan to tie the knot next year. "We’re planning a wedding next year end. It’s difficult setting a date when for every auspicious date, another bride wants you at her altar instead of your own," he reveals.
