With his latest movie Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai by Warner Bros Pictures, one the verge of release, Vishal Malhotra doesn’t seem to be able to contain his excitement. The most important thing for him is that, “This is the first time, I’ve been promoted in the trailers as well as the posters of the film along with the lead actors. This is a good pedestal for me and yes it’s a great feeling,” he says.
Talking more about the film he says, “It’s an out and out comedy. I would say a comic-romance instead of a romantic comedy. Riteish and I are playing assistant directors to
Farah Khan, who’s making a film within the film and for the first time she’s supposed to be working without
Shah Rukh Khan in that. Both Riteish and I are so unpopular that people around don’t even know that we exist. Riteish is a clap boy and I play a still photographer who wants to become a cinematographer but because he’s so pathetic in his work, he remains a still photographer. We are unfortunate even on the love front and have no luck with the girls around,” he adds.
How does he view his own character? He says, “I would say, the character falls more on the lines of what Owen Wilson played in Shanghai Knights or closer home what Arshad Warsi was in Munnabhai MBBS. The only difference is that the guys in those films were popular whereas in this one both of us share the fate of being big-time losers.”
