Funnyman Vir Das, who will be seen in a serious role for the very first time in 31st October, an edge-of-the-seat thriller based on the aftermath of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi’s assassination, grew a beard for his role in the film as he plays a Sikh in it.

Sources attached to the film claim that though Vir had an option of sporting a fake beard, he refused to do so and instead opted to grow his beard for the sake of authenticity.

A source says,“Vir grew and maintained his beard especially for this role so that he fits the role of a Sikh. He also learnt Punjabi from a diction coach and read about the Sikh culture.”
