All of 18, Vijayta V Gandhi, the co-producer of the John Abraham-starrer Goal, is a busy girl these days. Her mind is crawling with ideas on world cinema and how the youth is shaping it’s metamorphosis.
Taking a concrete step, Vijayta went ahead to share her vision with Bollywood biggies.

The response was awesome.
And now, supporting her wholeheartedly are filmmakers Ram Gopal Varma, Nagesh Kukunoor, J P Dutta, Sudhir Mishra,Vivek Agnihotri and others.
Calling it the Cape Town Bollywood Film Festival 2007 (‘coz her endeavour is backed by friends from there), her focus is to acknowledge GenNext films which are youth-centric in nature.
Filmmaker Nagesh Kukunoor of Hyderabad Blues and Iqbal fame is quite fond of Vijayta for her sheer sense of ideas. He says, “Youth is where the real challenge is. Its untainted enthusiasm is always open with a quest for new ideas. I would never pass up an opportunity like this.”

Joining in the fun is filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri. Speaking about the concept of this film fest, he says, “It will reinforce cultural ties and bond youth well. This will also bring about young leadership and empowerment. Vijayta is a passionate, dynamic and empowered young lady ready to take this movement in a new direction. I am with her.” Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma and actor-businessman Anuj Saxena are happy to be part of this ‘young movement’. And Vijayta is only too encouraged with their views.
This brand new film fest is scheduled to take off in Cape Town next month and will feature movies including the Shah Rukh Khan and Sushmita Sen-starrer Dulha Mil Gaya, Chaurahen with Soha Ali Khan and Victor Bannerjee, Anuranan with Rahul Bose and Raima Sen, 13th Floor featuring Sandhya Mridul and Purab Kohli and the world premiere of Ravi Chopra’s Naya Daur.
There’s some good news in store for producer-director J P Dutta, he will also be receiving a lifetime achievement award there.
Vijayta says, “The attraction is not over yet as Bipasha Basu, Esha Deol and Riteish Deshmukh will be performing for the invitees there.”
Way to go, girl.
