Vijay Varma reveals he ran away from home because of his strict father: 'I secretly collected money from friends'
Bollywood actor Vijay Varma is known for his unique choice of films, having won hearts with his performance-oriented roles over the past few years. He recently opened up about his journey to stardom and how he followed his passion against all odds.
Vijay about his career in Tollywood and Bollywood
In a recent conversation with director Farah Khan on her YouTube channel, the actor shared anecdotes from his early days and spoke about his brief foray into the Telugu film industry. When Farah asked why he hadn’t explored more roles in South Indian cinema, Vijay replied, “I did a Telugu film after many years.” When asked if he speaks Telugu, he responded with a smile, “A little bit.”
Vijay made plans ran away from home
Farah asked whether he had come to Mumbai from Hyderabad on his own. He then shared a story about running away from home. “Yes, I came on my own—actually, I ran away from home. I had a great plan in place before running away. Usually, people run away and then figure out what to do. But I had it all planned—I applied to FTII (Film and Television Institute of India) secretly. When I got selected, I secretly collected money from friends. And once I got the seat, I ran away from home.”
Vijay admitted that his father was very strict, but now, after seeing his career in the film industry, the whole family is happy. He also shared that his mother is about to come to Mumbai to stay with him.
