Vidya Balan will start shooting for her film 'Begum Jaan' on June 11 in
Jharkhand
and has started preparing for her role. The film happens to be a remake of director Srijit Mukherji's Bengali movie, 'Rajkahini'. We hear, the Bollywood actor has started reading Urvashi Butalia's book 'The Other Side Of Silence', which is based on the partition of India, as a part of the preparation. A source told HT, "The book contains more than 70 interviews with those who witnessed the Partition first-hand. The survivors have particularly spoken about the crimes committed against women during that time. Since the film is set in that period, Vidya is finding the book extremely insightful. It is helping her understand the era better."
