Vidya Balan is gearing up for the release of her film 'Do Aur Do Pyaar' co-starring Pratik Gandhi, Sendhil Ramamurthy and Ileana D'cruz. During the promotions of the film, Vidya opened up on how she has faced some challenges within in the industry while doing female led films. The actress admitted that she's come across male actors who are reluctant to do films which have strong roles for women.

In a conversation with The Indian Express, Vidya Balan expressed her views on the state of the industry and how male actors are hesitant to participate in films where women take center stage.

The actress mentioned that while the industry has seen progress, male actors continue to feel uncomfortable with the idea of women leading films and potentially stealing the spotlight. Despite this, she believes it's the male actors' loss for missing out on more exciting and innovative films driven by strong female leads.

The actress has had a prolific career marked by critically acclaimed and commercially successful female-centric films such as ‘No One Killed Jessica,’ ‘The Dirty Picture,’ ‘Kahaani,’ and many others.

‘Do Aur Do Pyaar, is directed by Shirsha Guha Thakurta and it explores themes of marriage and extra-marital relationships. It is set to release in theaters on April 19.
