Vidhu Vinod Chopra donates Rs 1 crore
Vidhu Vinod Chopra donated a sum of Rs. 1 crore to accelerate the monitory support for this a real hero’s drive against child marriage.
Real Heroes is an initiative honoring the selfless. It is a platform that appreciates and salutes the people involved in heroic service towards their society who are selected every year from the entire country. This year there are 25 such heroes dedicated to different causes from women's upliftment to social welfare, youth awareness, education to children and many such allied services.
Vidhu Vinod Chopra, who was also present to honour these heroes was immensely moved by the selfless service of a young girl all of 14, Bina Kalindi who stood up against the vicious custom of child marriage in her village Purulia in West Bengal.
Vinod Chopra was moved to tears by the efforts of all the real heroes and especially by this young girl. Bina educates parents of her village against child marriage by going door to door. So impressed was Vidhu Vinod Chopra that he donated a sum of Rs. 1 crore to accelerate the monitory support for this noble cause done by these heroes. Most of these social agents of change are unable to carry on with their projects due to lack of funds. So to help them all to carry on with their causes without monitory hiccups, Vinod Chopra decided to offer this help.
Vinod wants to use this as an example for other people to stand up for the cause.
