Wednesday saw a tense moment in the Delhi High Court during the hearing of late Sunjay Kapur’s Rs 30,000 crore property case. Two senior lawyers got into a loud argument right in the courtroom, and the whole scene was caught on camera. The video has now gone viral, grabbing the attention of people all over online.

Who represented the parties in court

Senior Advocate Mahesh Jethmalani appeared for Karisma Kapoor’s children, while Rajiv Nayar represented Priya Sachdev, Sunjay Kapur’s third wife. Things got tense in the courtroom as the two lawyers ended up in a loud and heated argument during the hearing.

The courtroom clash escalates

The courtroom of Justice Jyoti Singh turned tense when Jethmalani interrupted Nayar, sparking a sharp back-and-forth between the two senior lawyers. The fiery exchange was caught on camera and has since gone viral, leaving people online buzzing over the heated courtroom drama.





Jethmalani fired back at Sachdev’s lawyer, warning him to match his tone and not raise his voice. The argument escalated quickly, reportedly causing the proceedings to be paused briefly.

About the legal battle

Sunjay Kapur, the late ex-husband of Bollywood actress Karisma Kapoor, left behind a massive Rs 30,000 crore estate, sparking a legal battle. His children, Samaira and Kiaan, have approached the Delhi High Court seeking their share of the property.

Samaira and Kiaan have also accused their stepmother, Priya Sachdev, of altering their father’s will. Karisma and Sunjay had divorced in 2016.

Delhi HC directs Priya to disclose assets

On Wednesday, the Delhi High Court ordered Priya Sachdev, Sunjay Kapur’s widow, to reveal all his movable and immovable assets as of June 12, the day he passed away. Justice Jyoti Singh gave the direction while hearing a petition filed by Sunjay’s children with Karisma Kapoor, who are challenging his alleged will and claiming their share in assets reportedly worth Rs 30,000 crore.



Meanwhile, Priya Sachdev told the court that Samaira and Kiaan had already received Rs 1,900 crore from the family trust and questioned their additional claims. Her lawyer argued that even though the will was not registered, it was still valid, and emphasized that the children had not been left without any support. The submissions were made in response to the judge's query whether the will was registered.

Sunjay Kapur passed away on June 12 during a polo match in London after suffering a heart attack, reportedly caused by swallowing a bee. Following his death, his mother urged UK authorities to launch an investigation into the incident.
