It has been a year since Vicky Kaushal delivered a powerful performance as Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw in the biopic 'Sam Bahadur' released on December 1st, 2023. To celebrate this milestone, the 36-year-old actor took to social media, expressing his gratitude for the opportunity to portray such an iconic figure.

In his post, he thanked director Meghna Gulzar and filmmaker Ronnie Screwvala, acknowledging the honor of playing Manekshaw, a legendary figure in Indian military history. Sharing a picture of his character he wrote, "One of the biggest honours for me as an actor has been the opportunity to play FM Sam Manekshaw. Thank you @meghnagulzar @ronnie.screwvala #1yearofSamBahadur."

Fans quickly flooded the comments section, praising Vicky's portrayal. A fan commented, "This Movie and You in that Character has no second thoughts for the audience. THE MANEKSHAW character was truly picturesque by U." One fan noted that his performance and the character of Manekshaw were unforgettable. Another fan wrote, "A performance that shows your calibre and range of an actor which can never be matched by your contemporaries." Another typed, "Great next level profomance. Great movie no one beat you as leadership role"

'Sam Bahadur' is about the life of Sam Manekshaw, which showed his military career that spanned over four decades and included five wars. The film offered a glimpse into his personal life and relationships with notable figures.

Despite facing stiff competition at the box office from another major release, 'Animal', 'Sam Bahadur' managed to earn over Rs 130 crore worldwide and received positive reviews for Vicky's performance.

On the other hand, Vicky Kaushal was last seen in 'Bad Newz' and will be stepping in the shoes of yet another historical figure in the film, 'Chhaava', as the Maratha king Sambhaji. The film is said to be released on February 14, 2025.

He will also be working with Sanjay Leela Bhansali in the film 'Love & War' which also stars Ranbir and Alia. The movie is touted to be a love saga based on the time of war.
