Bappi Lahiri passed away at 69. Lahiri's family said in a statement that his death was a "deeply sad moment" for us. "We are seeking love and blessings for his soul," his wife and two children said. Veteran actress Reena Roy who has worked with Bappi on two films recently opened up about the musician.

She told ETimes, ''I have done two films with Bappi Lahiri - '

Madhosh

'(1974) and '

Zakhmee

' (1975). He came across as a very nice son to his mother and father. He was very innocent. Even when we were shooting in some outdoor location, he used to come along with his mother all the time. He was extremely talented, no doubt about it.

After his demise, Bappi Da's family released an official statement that read, ''It’s a deeply sad moment for us. The cremation will take on arrival of Bappa From LA tomorrow mid morning ,We are seeking love and blessings for his soul. We will keep you updated. Mrs. Lahiri, Mr. Gobind Bansal, Bappa Lahiri, Rema Lahiri.''
