Veteran actor Dharmendra in critical condition, placed on ventilator support - Reports

Bollywood legend Dharmendra sparked immense concern among fans following his recent admission to Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai due to complaints of breathlessness. While initial updates suggested the actor was stable, the situation took a worrying turn on November 10, 2025. Multiple reports began circulating suggesting the 89-year-old actor’s health had become critical. Doctors have reportedly placed the veteran star on ventilator support in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for close observation, prompting an immediate outpouring of prayers from fans and the film industry for the speedy recovery of the veteran actor.

Dharmendra's health update

According to sources, the veteran actor is currently on ventilator support. No confirmation has been made on the same from the actor's family as of now. Sources have also stated to TOI that he is under senior cardiologist Dr. Dev Pahlajani's care at the Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai.

For the unversed, Dharmendra was rushed to the hospital after reportedly complaining of breathlessness, prompting doctors to place him under close medical observation. The hospital staff confirmed his heart rate, blood pressure, and other vital parameters were within a stable range.

On November 1, a staff from the Breach Candy Hospital confirmed to Vickey Lalwani, “Dharmendra came in complaining of breathlessness. He is in the ICU and is sleeping now.”

On November 4, veteran actress and Dharmendra's wife was spotted at the airport shortly after the news broke, where she offered a reassuring "okay" gesture to the media, confirming her husband was doing well.

The veteran actor, who will turn 90 in December, has maintained a remarkably active professional life despite minor health issues in recent years, including a cataract surgery earlier in the year.

Bobby Deol, Dharmendra’s youngest son, recently disclosed in an interview that the veteran actor continues to reside with his first wife, Prakash Kaur, at their Khandala farmhouse near Mumbai.

Dharmendra's upcoming projects

Dharmendra is slated to appear next in the highly anticipated war drama 'Ikkis', directed by Sriram Raghavan. Amitabh Bachchan's grandson Agastya Nanda is all set to make his big debut as Arun Khetarpal. The plot chronicles the untold true story of India's youngest Param Vir Chakra awardee, Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal. Reportedly, the film has been scheduled to release in theaters on December 25, 2025. Dharmendra will be seen playing the role of the grandfather of the protagonist.

Dharmendra was also seen in the 2023 film, 'Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani' with Ranveer Singh, Shabana Azmi and Alia Bhatt. The veteran actor received massive appreciation for his role in the movie. Meanwhile, in 2024, he was seen in 'Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya' with Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon.
