Actor Vedang Raina made his Bollywood debut last year with Zoya Akhtar’s ‘The Archies’, which helped him gain attention from viewers by portraying the role of young Reggie Mantle. Following this, netizens found similarities between the actor and Ranveer Singh in their looks and style. Now, Vedang shared an incident from the sets of ‘Jigra’, where his co-star Alia Bhatt talked about his resemblance with Ranveer.
Vedang Raina and Alia Bhatt recently wrapped up shooting for Vasan Bala’s upcoming film ‘Jigra’. In a recent interview with Lifestyle Asia India, Vedang recalled Alia Bhatt and director Vasan Bala’s comments about him having similar facial features to Ranveer. He was already shooting for 'Jigra’ before the release of ‘The Archies’. Alia is the one who mentioned this, considering that nobody was familiar with him before ‘The Archies’. Vedang shared an incident where Director Vasan Bala said that he is Ranveer Singh after looking at a still on the monitor.
In a previous interview with Instant Bollywood, Vedang reacted to people calling him a doppelganger of Ranveer Singh. The actor stated that he does not see it. But as many of them are saying the same thing, he also started believing that there must be some truth to it. He had never discussed it with Ranveer as they have met only twice. He feels great to be called a doppelganger of Ranveer, whom he admires as both an actor and a performer. He also heard people calling him similar to Varun Dhawan and young Shah Rukh Khan. Vedang is not feeling pressured but just enjoying the comments about resemblance on social media.
Vedang also talked about working with Alia Bhatt in 'Jigra' and he was a bit nervous while doing a scene with Alia. He also discussed his admiration for her. Raina became a bigger fan of hers after the film. ‘Jigra’ is scheduled to hit theaters on September 27th.
