Very few actors are fortunate enough to be known as the character he played in his debut.
Varun Sharma is among the lucky few. He has become synonymous with ‘Chucha’ — the character he played in his maiden Bollywood outing, ‘Fukrey’ (2013).
Since then, the actor has become a part of many movies, the last two being ‘Chhichhore’ and ‘Jai Mummy Di’. Along with his soaring popularity on screen, Varun also enjoys immense following on social media.
And, while the audience has mostly seen his comic side on screen, Varun has proven that he is not behind when it comes to swag as well. If you want to know what we mean, take a look at this Instagram post of his:
Meanwhile, in the initial days of the nationwide lockdown, Varun had told Bombay Times about his favourite Hindi movies, which he has been watching repeatedly. He had said, “I enjoy watching ‘Baazigar’. The film influenced me so much that after watching the song ‘Yeh Kaali Kaali Aankhein’, I thought that even I should become an actor (laughs). ‘Andaz Apna Apna’ is such a funny film that everytime I watch it I enjoy it as if it’s my first time. ‘Dil Chahta Hai’ is a film that inspired me and my friends to have a trip to Goa. We have seen it so many times! ‘Mughal-E-Azam’ is a film that I watch with my mom. She looks so happy and excited while watching that film, that it brings a smile on my face. The other film that doesn’t become old for me is the iconic ‘Sholay’.
