After impressing one and all with his performance in 'Bhediya', Varun Dhawan is all set to enthrall the audience in the sequel of the movie. However, before that, the actor will be laying the foundation for the same in Shraddha Kapoor starrer 'Stree 2'.
According to a report in Bollywood Hungama, Varun is set to embody the character of Bhediya, marking an intriguing crossover within the shared cinematic universe. According to the report, the filming of Varun's scene alongside Shraddha occurred at a Mumbai studio. His portrayal in the movie will serve as the groundwork for Bhediya 2, which is also situated in this interconnected universe. Varun graciously allocated two days from his busy schedule to collaborate with his friend and producer, Dinesh Vijan, for this particular shoot.
Bhediya 2 is reportedly slated to commence production in 2025, picking up where Stree 2 concluded. Currently, filming for Stree 2 is underway.
In 2018, director Amar Kaushik helmed the horror comedy film 'Stree,' featuring Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor, which pleasantly surprised audiences and garnered acclaim. Following its success, the 2022 horror comedy 'Bhediya,' starring Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon, continued the trend of triumph. Notably, in the post-credit scene of 'Bhediya,' viewers were informed about the convergence of the Stree and Bhediya universes in upcoming projects. Both 'Stree 2' and 'Bhediya 2' are set to advance this interconnected storyline. 'Stree 2,' directed once again by Amar Kaushik, is scheduled for release in August of this year.
Meanwhile, Varun was last seen in Nitesh Tiwari's romantic drama 'Bawaal' alongside Janhvi Kapoor. Upon its release, the film received a predominantly mixed response from audiences and critics alike.
His upcoming project is 'Baby John,' a remake of the Tamil film 'Theri.' Produced by Atlee and directed by Kalees, the movie also features Wamiqa Gabbi and Keerthy Suresh in pivotal roles, set to hit the screens on May 31. Apart from this, Varun is also set to star in 'Bhediya 2' and his debut web series, 'Citadel.'
