On Instagram, Varun gave fans another reason to celebrate as he dropped a striking new poster of ‘Border 2’, featuring himself with Sunny Deol, Diljit Dosanjh and Ahan Shetty. Along with the visual, the actor revealed the much-anticipated teaser release date. “Vijay Diwas ka josh, 1971 ki jeet ki yaad, aur saal ka sabse grand teaser launch – ek saath! #Border2 teaser out on 16th December at 1:30 PM IST. Releasing in cinemas on 23rd January 2026," read the caption.

Teaser to be attached to ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’

According to Bollywood Hungama, the teaser of ‘Border 2’ will be unveiled on December 16 in the presence of Sunny, Varun and Ahan Shetty. Following its release, the teaser will be attached to ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’, which hits theatres on December 19, 2025. Given the massive audience expected for the James Cameron film, this move is being seen as a highly strategic marketing decision for ‘Border 2’.

Grand teaser launch on Vijay Diwas

A report by Pinkvilla cited a source close to the production, revealing that the highly awaited teaser of ‘Border 2’ will debut on December 16, 2025, in Mumbai, with the cast and crew in attendance. The date is particularly meaningful, as December 16 marks Vijay Diwas, a day that celebrates India’s triumph over Pakistan in the 1971 war. Sunny, Varun and Ahan are confirmed to be part of the grand premiere, along with director Anurag Singh and producers Bhushan Kumar and Nidhi Dutta. However, there’s still no word on whether Diljit Dosanjh will be able to attend the event.

The legacy of JP Dutta’s 1997 masterpiece ‘Border’ continues with its long-awaited sequel, ‘Border 2’.
