Two persons, including a five-year-old girl, were burnt to death and 143 thatched houses were reduced to ashes when a fire broke out in a village in the Tirap district on Thursday. Hearing about the same, Varun and his wife, Natasha Dalal offered monetary aid to the people of the village by donating Rs 1 lakh, it was reported.

Photos of the Mr and Mrs Dhawan with Lower Subansiri Deputy Commissioner, Somcha Lowang have since been doing the rounds on social media. The thoughtful gesture had fans singing praise of the actor and thanking him for his kind deed.

"An elderly person, who was bedridden, and a girl were charred to death. The deceased have not been identified," officials said in a statement to PTI.
