Vardhaan Puri's Bobby Aur Rishi Ki Love Story leads to flattering DMs from female fans: I want to invest a lot more in romance

Actor Vardhaan Puri recently starred in a romantic comedy - Bobby Aur Rishi Ki Love Story - that has been gaining traction on it's streaming platform. The film, which marks a departure from his earlier work in dark romantic drama - Yeh Saali Aashiqui - has been receiving attention from audiences, particularly among the Gen Z demographic.
According to Puri, working on this project was a refreshing experience. "It's been a very refreshing experience as this is the first time I was in a relaxed and happy headspace while shooting," he says, adding, "When the material is heavy and dark and your character motivations are intense, one is usually in fight or flight mode, and that affects your mood, your hunger levels and your sleep schedule. This is the first time I have eaten on a set as a film actor and I do not really recollect even a single second, where I wasn’t in a good headspace. "
The film's reception has also sparked attention from female audiences, with Puri acknowledging that he has been receiving a significant amount of female attention. "My DMs are all very flattering, and I'm trying my best to not allow it to go to my head," he said. When asked about his approach to romance in his work, Puri expressed his interest in exploring this genre further. "I want to invest a lot more in romance," he states.
Industry peers have also taken notice of Puri's performance, with director Shekhar Kapur offering praise for his work in the film. Kapur reportedly told Puri that he felt proud of his performance, a sentiment that Puri appreciated. "After watching the film, he said to me that he feels proud of my performance in the film, and that coming from him is nearly as good as winning an Oscar," Puri concludes.
