‘Vadh 2’ release date confirmed: Luv Ranjan calls it a thematic sequel to the original

The much-awaited crime thriller 'Vadh 2', starring Sanjay Mishra and Neena Gupta, is set to hit theatres on February 6, 2026. Backed by Luv Ranjan and Ankur Garg, the sequel promises a fresh story while retaining the gritty intensity that made the first film stand out. Jaspal Singh Sandhu returns to direct the new chapter.

A new story, the same ideology

Unlike many sequels, 'Vadh 2' does not directly continue the earlier plot. Instead, it introduces a new set of characters while holding on to the same core theme. Explaining the approach, Luv Ranjan said, “It doesn’t start from where part one ended. The characters are different, but their ideology is the same.”




The film continues to explore how ordinary people react when life pushes them into extreme situations.

Sanjay Mishra returns in another challenging role alongside Neena Gupta, with the makers believing his presence adds an unpredictable edge to the narrative. Luv Ranjan also explained why the casting works so effectively, saying, “When a common man goes to an extreme you don’t expect, that’s where the fun and tension lie.” The statement perfectly captures the tone the film aims to achieve.

Apart from the lead pair, the sequel also features Kumud Mishra in a key role. The ensemble cast further includes Amitt K. Singh, Akshay Dogra, Yugika Bihani, and Shilpa Shukla, adding more depth to the story.

Trailer date and franchise hopes

Buzz around Vadh 2 has already begun to build, with fans reacting enthusiastically to the first-look poster featuring Sanjay Mishra and Neena Gupta and calling the original film iconic.

The trailer is set to release in theatres alongside Border 2 and will also drop digitally on the 27th of this month. Speaking about the franchise potential, Luv Ranjan said, “As a producer, I would definitely want Vadh to be an extremely successful franchise, but that is something audiences will decide,” making it clear that the future of the series rests with viewers.
