V Shantaram awards to be given away on April 26

<div class="section1"><div class="Normal">MUMBAI: The V Shantaram awards, one of the prestigious film awards of the country, would be given away at a function to be held here on April 26.<br /><br />The awards named after the legendary film maker V Shantaram was instituted in the year 1993, Rajkamal Academy of Cinematic Excellence (RACE) said in a release on Wednesday.<br /><br />This year''s awards will witness Ajay Devgan competing with Kamal Hassan and Chiranjeevi among others for the best actor male category, while <span style="" font-style:="" italic="">Devdas</span> is a nominee for the best film category.<br /><br />Films from seven languages will initially compete with each other across categories and the winners will be nominees for the awards that will be adjudicated by the 61 members of the academy", it added.<br /><br /></div> </div>
