Usha Uthup says Dhurandhar makers didn’t seek her blessings for ‘Rambha Ho’ rehash, but she’s 'very happy' with the result
The reimagined version of ‘Rambha Ho’, one of Usha Uthup’s most iconic songs from the 1981 film Armaan, has been drawing attention after featuring in Aditya Dhar’s period spy thriller Dhurandhar, starring Ranveer Singh. While the song has been recreated by Shashwat Sachdev and sung by Madhubanti Bagchi, Usha Uthup has now revealed that the makers did not approach her for her blessings before the rehash.
Speaking to Radio Nasha, Usha shared that she came across the recreated version only after someone sent her a link. Recalling her first reaction, the singer said, “Somebody sent me the link. So I said, ‘Wow! What is this! It’s fabulous.’ I’m not one of those people who feels bad somebody else sang this. I’m very happy.”
The singer also confirmed that the Dhurandhar team did not reach out to her prior to recreating the track, but made it clear that it did not dampen her enthusiasm for the new version.
‘For it to come back with such a bang is amazing’
Despite not being consulted beforehand, Usha Uthup said she was delighted to see the song return to the spotlight. Expressing her happiness over the renewed interest in ‘Rambha Ho’, she added, “For it to come back with such a bang is amazing.
