Twinkle Khanna finds Bollywood boring

Twinkle Khanna's turn from a

Bollywood

actress to bestseller writer are the stuff of legends. What makes it even more interesting is that she comes from a family of true blue actors - father, Rajesh Khanna aka India's first superstar, and mother, Dimple Kapadia. However, she has no intentions to write about Bollywood or its folks in her books or columns.

At an event, the writer, whose new book '

Pyjamas Are Forgiving

' is already getting popular, reportedly dismissed Bollywood as boring and too familiar. She said she didn't find it interesting enough to base her short stories on or mention it in her columns. She also recalled her brief time in the film industry and said that she was always a misfit and would be

knitting

on the sets or reading a book. She added that what helped her tide through the film phase was her ability to laugh at herself through hideous costumes, terrible lines and pelvic thrusts. She quipped that she hopes that people forget '

Mela

' and remember her for her books.

Twinkle also revealed that she didn't use lipstick till she began acting.
