'The Light: Swami Vivekananda' is a tribute to Vivekananda

Tutu Sinha’s The Light: Swami Vivekananda is a biopic on one of India’s most revered philosophers.
Producer J Misra says, “I want Swamiji’s teachings to continue to inspire the youth.” The film has scenes showing industrialist Jamsetji N Tata’s life-changing meeting with Swamiji during his journey to Chicago as well as the impact he had on another respected Indian leader — Lokmanya Tilak.Here’s a look at personalities inspired by his teachings today…

While addressing a joint session of Parliament in India, the US President said, “It’s the richness of faiths celebrated by a visitor to my hometown of Chicago more than a century ago — the renowned Swami Vivekananda who said that holiness, purity and charity are not the exclusive possessions of any church in the world, and that every system has produced men and women of the most exalted character.”
APJ Abdul Kalam, Scientist and former President of India
Talking to students, Kalam said, “Swami Vivekananda has given a great message to the youth of the country — that there is no limit to the power of the mind.”
Anna Hazare, Social Activist
Swamiji’s book made him realise the ultimate aim of human life — service to humanity. “I realised striving for the betterment of common people is equivalent to a prayer to God,” said Hazare.
