Filmmaker Tushar Hiranandani spent years in the film industry before he could eventually live his dream - which was to make a film that he was convinced about. It took him four years and tonnes of patience before
Taapsee Pannu and Bhumi Pednekar agreed to become a part of Saand Ki Aankh, which won critical acclaim, found love from the audience at the box office, and also went on to win awards in numerous categories.
Tushar’s great gamble paid off.
Ahead of Teachers’ Day, we reached out to the filmmaker to know what cinema has taught him in the years that he has been an active part of the industry. For those who have tuned in late, Tushar has written several scripts, stories, screenplays and dialogues for filmmakers like
Indra Kumar and Remo D’Souza.
Talking about the lessons cinema taught him, Tushar said, “Cinema has taught me to live life kingsize. ‘Zindagi badi honi chahiye lambi nahi…Kyunki Babumoshai, zindagi aur maut uparwale ke haath hai jahanpanah. Usse na toh aap badal sakte hain na main. Hum sab toh rangmanch ki kathputhliyan hain jinki dor uparwale ki ungliyon main bandhi hain. Kab, kaun, kaise uthega yeh koi nahi bata sakta hai. Ha, ha, ha.’ I completely believe and live by this dialogue by
Rajesh Khanna in Anand.”
