He has been a part of the Bengali film industry for close to two decades and now
Tota Roy Chowdhury will be seen sharing screen space with
Kajol in ‘Helicopter Eela’. He made his foray into Hindi cinema with
Sujoy Ghosh’s production, ‘Te3n’ (2016). Ask him what made him say yes to the film and the actor reveals, “It was my first Hindi film. I was drawn to it because the scene in the film was with
Amitabh Bachchan. I am his huge fan and I did it because of that. Then I did ‘Kahaani 2’, ‘Indu Sarkar’ now of course I feature in Helicopter Eela.”
Quiz him on the differences between the Bengali and Hindi film industries and the actor says, “The experience of working in both the industries is more or less the same. The atmosphere in the Bengali film industry is homely. In the Hindi film industry everyone’s in a rush, the environment is very serious and everybody is on a mission. In Kolkata everybody gets together with the intention of creating something.”
