Actor Tom Alter spends almost ten days every month in Delhi for TV shoots and stage plays. Recalling his earliest memories in Delhi, he tells us, 'When I was young, I used to come here to watch the matches ' Feroz Shah Kotla for

, Ambedkar Stadium for football, Dhyan Chand National Stadium for hockey and Delhi Gymkhana for tennis. Watching

was the main motivation for me to come to Delhi. I used to come to the hotels and swim in their pools. In those days, there used to be a famous restaurant in Kashmere Gate where I liked to dine. Now, I like the restaurants at India Habitat Centre and Khan Market. I used to go to Regal to watch films.'

What many don't know is that Tom Alter was the first person to interview Sachin Tendulkar on TV when Sachin was 15. Ask Alter if he is excited to see Sachin play himself in the upcoming

biopic

, and he says, 'I have been fortunate enough to see the real thing (Sachin's career). I don't think the film will excite me, although I hope it does well.'
