Tiger Shroff on Bade Miyan Chote Miyan debacle, says Baaghi 4 has different version of him: 'Action is definitely my forte...'
Tiger Shroff is gearing up for Baaghi 4, the darkest installment in the Baaghi franchise, and is giving fans a glimpse of a grittier, more intense side of himself. After facing a challenging few years marked by box office setbacks, including Ganpath, Heropanti 2, and Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, Tiger is now focused on reinventing his action-hero persona.
In a conversation with Bollywood Hungama, Tiger shared his thoughts on the moment, expressing that he feels restless, excited, and grateful that audiences will get to see a different side of him in Baaghi 4. He reflected on the challenges of the past few years, calling them a tough but valuable learning curve that has helped him grow into a better artist.
The actor added that he has channeled the lessons from his challenging phase into Baaghi 4. He said he hopes the audience—and the filmmakers—recognize the effort, noting that while the fate of a film can never be predicted, the team has given their all. Tiger expressed gratitude that the Baaghi franchise has reached its fourth installment and thanked producer Sajid Nadiadwala for giving him the platform to grow and showcase his work.
He also credited his parents, Jackie Shroff and Ayesha Shroff, as his unwavering support system throughout both the highs and lows of his career, describing himself as grateful and blessed to have them by his side.
When asked about what went wrong with his last release, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan alongside Akshay Kumar, Tiger explained that while he felt the film had everything in its favor, it ultimately didn’t connect with audiences. He added that he thoroughly enjoyed the shooting process and expressed gratitude to producers Vashu Bhagnani and Jackky Bhagnani for the opportunity.
Tiger also spoke about his experience working with director Ali Abbas Zafar, whom he considers one of his favorite directors, and co-actor Akshay Kumar, his childhood hero. He described the shoot as an enjoyable experience and said he wouldn’t change anything about making the film.
The actor has consistently upheld his image as an action hero since his debut. However, the trailer for Baaghi 4 revealed a darker, more violent side to his character, featuring intense and bloody sequences. He acknowledged that while action remains his forte and he is grateful for being recognized as an action star, reinventing himself within the genre is challenging. With Baaghi 4, he aimed to explore a new perspective and style of action.
He added that he hopes audiences appreciate this new side of him, describing it as a distinct version of himself and a sub-genre within action. He expressed confidence that, just as viewers embraced his different approach in War, they will respond positively to this new avatar in Baaghi 4.
