Throwback: When Sonam Kapoor got emotional at her sister Rhea Kapoor's wedding to Karan Boolani; 'Your friendship is even more important...'

Sonam Kapoor tied the knot with businessman Anand Ahuja in 2018. A few years later, in 2021, her sister Rhea Kapoor tied the knot with Karan Boolani in a simple ceremonly at her Mumbai home, that was attended by only close friends and family. Later, Sonam took to her IG handle to share some pics from the ceremony and one could see how emotional she was at the same.


Seemingly overlooking the wedding rituals, Sonam is snapped holding onto husband Anand Ahuja’s hand in one pic while she is seated next to her mother Sunita Kapoor. The actress also posted several picture-perfect moments with Anand, while posing for the camera.

In another social media post, Sonam dedicated it to Rhea’s husband Karan Boolani and gave him a warm welcome to the family. Sharing a picture with the groom, Sonam wrote, “You’ve always been family. Your friendship is even more important than your title of being my brother in-law. But I’m so ecstatic that you are! Love you @karanboolani.” Previously, Sonam had penned a loving note for her younger sister and shared, “Side by side or miles apart, we sisters will always be connected by heart. Honoured to be the sister of the most beautiful bride. Love you. @rheakapoor.”


Rhea Kapoor and Karan Boolani tied the knot in a low key wedding hosted at Anil Kapoor’s Juhu bungalow. The nuptials were attended by close family and friends of the couple. Announcing her wedding on Instagram, Rhea had later shared, “12 years later, I shouldn’t have been nervous or overwhelmed because you’re my best friend and the best guy ever. But I cried and shook and had stomach flips all the way through because I didn’t know how humbling the experience would be. I’ll always be that girl who had to come home to juhu at 11 pm before my parents fell asleep. Only until now I didn’t know how lucky I was to feel torn. I hope we make a family so close that we have many, many loves of our life.”
