Throwback: When Neetu Kapoor revealed about her playful competition with Alia Bhatt over Raha's first words

Neetu Kapoor's love for her granddaughter Raha Kapoor is no secret. The veteran actress has been doting on the little one ever since she was born to Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor in November 2022. During her appearance on Koffee With Karan 8,earlier this year Neetu had opened up about the fun rivalry she shares with daughter-in-law Alia regarding the baby's first words.

During the chat show, host Karan Johar congratulated Neetu on Raha turning one. Speaking about the baby, the ‘Bobby’ actress revealed the mini battle she has with Alia and her mother Soni Razdan over Raha's first words. "At my home, the baby is growing. I keep instructing the help to tell her to say papa. But Soni says to tell her to say mumma," Neetu shared.
The ‘Jugjugg Jeeyo’ actress further recalled a hilarious incident when she had a playful banter with Alia over Raha's first words.

Neetu further elaborated on Alia's excitement when Raha finally uttered her first word. "So I went the other day to the house and Alia says, 'Oh, by the way, she said 'mamma.' So I said, 'She didn't say 'mamma'; she said 'mum-mum' (which means water). But she's saying 'da-da' and not 'na-na,' so I'm happy with that."
This playful banter highlights the affectionate competition within the family as they eagerly anticipate Raha's milestones. Neetu's lighthearted remarks reflect the joy and love that envelop their interactions, showcasing how family dynamics can be both entertaining and endearing.

Recently, Ranbir, Alia, and Raha were spotted at the Mumbai airport in the wee hours of September 16, accompanied by Neetu. As the couple handled their travel arrangements, little Raha stole the spotlight with her adorable antics. When Neetu arrived at the airport, Raha greeted her grandmother with a sweet smile and a few words. Their endearing interaction was a delight for onlookers and video of this went quickly viral.
