Throwback: When Karan Johar revealed that he was not impressed with Ranveer Singh’s looks and his ‘Band Baaja Baaraat’ poster

Karan Johar has roped in Ranveer Singh for his next directorial and the love story was announced on the latter’s birthday today. While KJo is all gung-ho about working with Ranveer, there was a time when the filmmaker was unimpressed with the actor. When Ranveer visited Karan’s popular chat show a decade ago, the filmmaker had revealed that he was not impressed with Ranveer’s looks. While Aditya Chopra insisted that Ranveer would be a powerhouse entertainer, Karan felt that no one would see ‘Band Baaja Baaraat’, thanks to the poster.
In the same conversation, KJo later revealed that after watching the movie, he was floored with Ranveer and Anushka Sharma’s performances and was keen to work with them. Cut to a decade later and Ranveer has bagged his first ever film with Karan as the director. After a gap of five years, Karan Johar is returning to call the shots with Alia Bhatt and Ranveer essaying the leads.
