A Story of Honour Killing says that its not easy to pick a subject like the khaps and honour killings and convert it into a commercial product
While there has been much hoopla about the release of his debut movie "Khap A Story of Honour Killing", Sarrtaj Gill says that the truth shall surpass the assumption on Friday. While speaking to DT, the actor, who plays the role of a 20-something MBA student in the movie, said, "I am not at all jittery about it since I believe we have made a good movie.
1x1 polls
I would've been jittery had it been a shady movie or something that was half baked. The movie required a lot of courage to make and our director made sure that his research was well conducted before he embarked on the project."
The actor, who makes his debut with the Bollywood flick, says that he will soon be heading to the Golden Temple to pray for his movie's success as well as his own. Says Gill, "I am originally from a place called Tarantaran in Amritsar and the Golden Temple is one of my most favourite places. I was there in May this year and would be heading there in a fortnight's time again. I like to go there early in the morning around 5.30. I'll go there and take the blessings of the almighty soon."
But bring back the conversation to his film and how he faces the risk of being tagged a genre actor, and Gill quips, "It's an entertaining film with amazing music. So, it's not that I have acted in a documentary. Also, I think that one movie is not enough to get you tagged as a genre actor. Yes, I'd not like people to tag me as a serious actor at the beginning of my career, but I would like them to take me seriously."
